Think of this as a #LeadershipRetreat for your board, council, and/or group....and those from other schools around the country! We can also consider it a weekend-long crash course in Alumni Relations, including a focus on philanthropy/fundraising, student recruitment, and leadership development. The draft agenda can be reviewed here. We'll continue to add details about events as they are finalized.
Since this is a fully immersive learning opportunity, we suggest that Black alumni associations, councils, and groups be represented by 10-12 people at this retreat for leaders. A sample group might include: 4-5 alumni leaders (previous, current, and aspirational board members), 2-3 staff (Office of Alumni Relations, Advancement, The Provost, the President, etc.), 2-3 young alumni leaders, and 1-2 current student leaders.
Earlybird registration ($45) will open in mid- December, and Regular Registration ($60) will open on February 24.
There will be six general sessions based on the Collective's Six Pillars of Impact: Advocate for Inclusion; Encourage Student Recruitment; Support Philanthropy; Broaden Community Service; Promote Leadership, and Celebrate Our Universities.
There will be a Presidents' Roundtable (for all current Presidents and Chairs); an Executives' Council Session (for all current members of Executive Committees), and a Staff Support Session(for all staff members who support Black alumni organizations and initiatives).
