I attended the Inaugural conference of the Black Alumni Collective at Georgia Tech in Spring 2019, and I have attended every national conference since, including Florida State in 2020, and our online retreat hosted by American University in 2021. There really is power in the Collective, and I’m proud to welcome over 500 Black alumni leaders and friends to Duke University in Durham, North Carolina April 28 – May 1, 2022. We’ll be celebrating Black excellence in all of its forms … can't wait to see you next year!
Our 2022 National Conference will be full of conversations that address our future as a nationally connected community. Conference sessions will focus on ways in which we can advance the interests and objectives of the black community both on a local and global scale. Panel topics include but are not limited to "The Power of Black Media," "After COVID: Navigating Black Health Disparities," and "Sports, Protest, and Racial Reconciliation."
Our Planning Committee is curating experiences that are both timely and unique, and we are excited to have you join us! Trust me, this is a conference that you do not want to miss. It will be a great conduit for Black alumni leaders and volunteers to connect, communicate and advance the Black Alumni Collective cause .
Hope to see you there!
Thanks so much to all the Black alumni leaders, volunteers, and supporters who are part of this movement! Each year, our convenings become more reflective of all the incredible work taken on by Black alumni around the country (and world!). This is such an important time for our work as a Collective, building connections and partnerships to support our work both on campus and in the communities we serve. We are excited about the 2022 National Conference at Duke - hope you can join us!
